Common questions about RSS to Telegram

Do I need to create a Telegram bot?
Yes, you'll need a bot token from @BotFather. Creating one is free and takes about 2 minutes — just message @BotFather in Telegram, run /newbot, and follow the prompts. DiffHook then uses that token to send messages on your behalf.
Can I send to a public Telegram channel?
Yes. Add your bot as an admin to the channel, then paste the channel's username (e.g. @yourchannel) or numeric chat ID into DiffHook. The bot will post to the channel just like any other admin.
How often does DiffHook check my RSS feed?
Paid plans poll up to every minute. The free tier checks once per hour. You can upgrade at any time to reduce the delay between a new item appearing and your Telegram message arriving.
Does it work with Telegram groups as well as channels?
Yes. Add the bot to any group, grab the group's chat ID, and paste it into DiffHook. Alerts will be posted to the group just like channel posts.
